David and Kristy's first born, Brian Joseph was born on August 25th, 1976. Until the age of 10 he grew up in a little Bay Park neighborhood on Vega Street.

At the beginning of Brian's 10th summer the family moved into a home in Santee. He later attended Santana High School where he excelled in the fields of Photography and Electronics.

After high school Brian went on to attend Grossmont Community College, which was known for it's great Computer Science courses. He studied various computer programming languages (including C, Pascal, and Basic) because he enjoyed them. At the time he had no plans to pursue a career in computers, although he had always showed great potential in this field.

With some encouragement from his father, he learned much about personal computers while tinkering with various family computers beginning with a Vic 20 at age 6. By age 9, Dave and Kristy had purchased their family's first computer with a mouse. Some of Brian's favorite family memories include times when the whole family would sit around the Atari 520 ST and play Kings Quest II together.

It was on the Atari ST that Brian was first exposed to computer programming. Dave would bring home copies of Byte Magazine, which always contained one article which included the source code to create a simple game (such as Reversey or checkers). So, every time his dad brought home a new Byte Magazine, he went to work transcribing the source code from the magazine into the GW-Basic editor. When he was finished, he always found he has mis-typed something which caused the game to fail to run. During the process known as debugging he began to -- without realizing it -- understand how to program a computer.

In August 1997 Brian's enthusiasm for the Internet inspired him to create web site to record the history of the Hanifin family. In 1998 Brian was employed by an Internet Service Provider, at which time he registered the domain name hanifin.net.

Brian has been working since his first job at age 10 as a paper delivery boy, which he did for 6 years. When he earned his driver's license, Brian found a job as a photographer for a local photo lab. His senior year in High School he got the job which he would work through college, as a Sales Associate at Radio Shack.

At age 21, after 4 long years of Radio Shack and College, Brian decided it was time to find his career. He decided it was time go to work programming the Internet. Brian currently programs websites for a company called SiteLab International.

On Sunday, April 17th, 2005 Brian was married to Nerene Lee Goez.
