A visit to Ireland after 48 years

Mrs. John Breyer entertained a Bon Voyage dinner party at her Nuevo home last Sunday in honor of her mother, Mrs. Thomas Hanifin, who left Wednesday for her old home in County Kerry, Ireland, accompanied by two of her daughters, Mrs. Marion Ashley of Perris and Mrs. Fritz Schain of Tonopah, Nevada.
Mrs. Hanifin has not visited her homeland since coming to Chicago 48 years ago, where she married her childhood sweetheart, Tom Hanifin. Soon after their marriage they came to Perris for a short visit with an uncle. Their visit proved quite lengthy; in their 40 years here they have raised a family of |
seven children: Mr. John Hanifin of Portland, Oregon. Mrs. Peggy Reust of Lancaster, Mrs. Betty Walker of Dairy, Oregon, Mrs. Eileen Schain of Tonopah, and Mrs. Josephine Breyer, Mrs. Mary Ashley and Mrs. Katie Keyes of Perris Valley. Mr. Hanifin passed away November 1964. Since that time, Mrs. Hanifin has devoted her life to spreading kindness and sunshine to her family and friends. We all wish her a wonderful trip. |
