My cousin in Ireland is researching my HANIFIN family for me right now. At this point in time this is what I know about my HANIFIN family.
Michael HANIFIN born around 1840′s marries Honoria Tyter in or about 1864. He found the names of two of their children. William HANIFIN, born August 21, 1868 and Catherine HANIFIN, born around 1871. There are more children, but he is still searching the records. My HANIFINS were found in Leith East Ratass, Bosna, Tralee and Knocknagoshel, Co. Kerry Ireland.
Tyter is not a common name found in Ireland. Some of the first names of people in this family are Catherine, David, Hanoria, Maragret, Michael and William.
Catherine HANIFIN was my Great-Grandmother she mariried Jeremiah Piggott/Picket in Jan of 1888 and had 13 children. I
I am still researching this family will keep all of you HANIFIN”S in touch.
This is a great web site and I am glad I found it. Keep up the great work. I am very proud to be Irish and a HANIFIN also.
Fondly,
Madeline

Hi there. My name is Bill Pigott. Catherin Hanifin-Piggott was my grandmother. My father was Michael Pigott, I guess he dropped a (G) when he arrived in NY. I have heard that Catherine visited NY & Chicago a few times. I visited Knocknagoshel in 1986.
