Hello to all Hanifins.

Great website.

My father & I have been talking with a very nice lady who is doing research on her grandfather Morris Hanifan.

If anyone can help, please let me know.

I would also be very interested in learning more about my great & great, great grandfathers who immigrated (mid to late 1800′s) from Dingle. Their names were Michael & John (son). They ended up in West Virginia working for the railroad.

Take Care & Thanks Very Much

after reading your gggrand parents migrated to US in the mid 1880′s and worked on the railroad, I could not resist contacting you. I just left a reply on the Hanifan.net. My ggrandfather was born in Ireland came thru. NY and checking the census at least back to 1849 S.A.Hanephin, Oregon; 1860 Iowa Simeon Hannefan; 1880 Iowa Simon Henephin; 1900 Simon Hanephin in Minn; 1910 & 1920 Census in Mo. Simon Hanephin. They all worked on the railroads and highways-they ended up here, they were like gypsies traveling according to the census at least in these states noted above. I just started last Aug. looking up the family.
