I did an idle web search for “Doonties” and found this site. Michael Hanafin posted below about Tom (my uncle) being in Doonties, and his brother Tim (my dad) being in Wexford. I am in San Francisco, where I’ve been since 1989. I remember Jerry and Molly Hanafin of Chicago visiting Ireland in the summers when I was a child, and I traveled to Chicago to visit them several times after I moved to the USA. I loved Molly and Jerry. Such warm funny people, Jerry was great with stories and Molly was always urging me to have a whiskey! I remember Molly’s brother Tim too.

Hi Anne
I remember your dad growing up in Doonties. Timmie we called him then. I don’t think I have seen him in fifty years. Who was Molly and Jerry Hanafin. This is a wonderful site. Technology has made the world smaller and has helped to preserve many family connections that would otherwise be lost.
I wish you a very happy NewYear.

Hi Anne, my mother grew up beside your uncle Tom Galvin Tom Galvin was her first cousin and her family had the farm next door. . I remember they called your uncle Tommie tall. My uncle James ran the farm and Noreen was his wife.
I typed in Doonties as well and and found your name on the Hanfin web site.
It would be great to hear from you.
Regards Angela Lyons
