my great grandfather, william hanifin, came from ireland, i think from dingle co. and landed in new york city and moved upstate to rome-utica area, finally to florence closeby.

do you have any connection or knowledge of hanifins(hanafins, hanifans) who left ireland around the potato famine era. he was born 1810+ or – a few years. he was in florence,n.y. for 1850 census.
