Hi All:
What little I know about the clan is that we came from Dingle to America in the 1850's and settled near Sayer, PA. I am told there were Hickey's and O'Connells in the mix. I am also told the old homestead still stands, but I have not seen it. In 1915 the Family head at the time was Micheal Hanafin who moved his familiy to Endicott, NY. Micheal had several sons and a daughter: Paul J. Hanafin, Robert J. Hanafin (my grandfather), Mike Hanafin and a girl Mary. They sold farm equipment and grains. Paul J. who was the oldest son also lived the longest well into his 80's. Robert J. Hanafin founded the Robert J. Hanafin insurance agency in 1927 and it still prospers today under the guidence of his son R. Martin Hanafin. Douglas Hanafin lives in Seattle, WA and has a son Charles Hanafin and a daughter Susan. Some old photo's exist of the farm and Micheal with his family in 1914.
This is a wonderful web site. GO CLAN!
